Gauge Valves

The gauge valve range covers the hardware between a process line and the instrument reading it. It spans multi-port gauge valves, single and double block-and-bleed gauge valves, pressure gauge pin valves in union bonnet and standard patterns, a compact drain valve and an adjustable pressure gauge snubber.

Block-and-bleed valves combine isolation, calibration and venting in one body. The single block-and-bleed is a needle valve with a downstream vent for static pressure gauges and instrument installations; the double block-and-bleed carries two valves with a single outlet for gauges, switches and pressure transmitters. Both are supplied in 1/2 in and 3/4 in with NPT, BSP and BSP taper connections, in male, female and mixed inlet and outlet combinations.

Materials across the range are A 105 carbon steel, A 276 SS 304 and SS 316, Monel and Hastelloy, with PTFE gland packing as standard and Graphoil above 180 °C. Carbon steel is zinc plated and dichromated; stainless is supplied natural. Hydrostatic testing is at 620 kg/cm² on the body and 413 kg/cm² on the seat, with a 40 kg/cm² pneumatic seat test — except the snubber, which is tested at 420 and 270 kg/cm².

The multi-port valve exists to give flexibility in positioning gauges or pressure switches, and is offered with 1/2 in and 3/4 in inlet and outlet combinations. The adjustable snubber uses a tapered pin and orifice to damp pulsation across a wide range, in NPT and BSP from 1/4 in to 3/4 in. The drain valve is a compact miniature unit for draining or venting instruments fitted to multiport valves and transmitters, in 1/4 in to 3/4 in NPT.
