Hose Connectors

Hose connectors join hoses and flexible tubing to valves, pressure pumps, hydraulic cylinders and the rest of a hydraulic system. Fluid Controls has designed and manufactured connectors and adaptors for fifty years, and offers thirteen connection designs across that experience — cone connectors at 24°, 37°, 60° and the four JIS angles, O-ring face seal and metric stud ends, flanged and SAE flange ends, BSPP/BSPT, NPT/NPTF and metric threads, and the company's own single and double ferrule designs.

Connectors are designed to national and international standards and to customer specification, with customisation for specific application requirements. Where a hose connector standard exists — ISO 12151-1, -3, -4, -5 and -6 — the connector is built to it; the remainder are built to internal Fluid Controls standards. Commonly used materials are stainless steel, carbon steel and brass, with combinations and exotics offered on request, and carbon steel connectors are coated with zinc or zinc-nickel against corrosion.

Attachment is by crimping on a FINN Power electronic hose crimping machine, or by welding or brazing on metallic hose. Connectors are tested to customer requirement: salt spray, plating, cyclic opening and closing, and leakage. Assemblies built from them run 1/4" to 4" and up to 450 bar depending on the hose material.
