Non-Return (Check) Valves
PN 400 and compact check valves in screwed, ferrule and pipe ends.
Check valves that give free flow in one direction with minimum pressure drop and shut off in reverse, in seven products covering screwed, double-ferrule, single-ferrule and pipe end connections.
Cracking pressure is 0.3 to 0.5 kg/cm² as standard across the range, with special cracking pressures available. Soft seating on Buna-N or Viton gives zero leakage in the closed position. The PN 400 screwed valves run 1/8 in to 2 in in BSP and NPT and are tested hydrostatically at 620 kg/cm² on the body and 413 kg/cm² on the seat, with a 60 kg/cm² pneumatic seat test.
The single-ferrule valves are supplied in two series — an L series rated PN 250, tested at 375 and 250 kg/cm², and an S series rated PN 400, tested at 630 and 400 kg/cm² — covering 6 mm to 42 mm tube with BSP pipe threads, to DIN 2353, BS 4368, IS 8805, ANSI B36.10 and B36.19. The double-ferrule valve covers 1/4 in to 1 in tube, with larger connections to 1-1/2 in available on request.
The compact range is a shorter-bodied alternative sealed by a 90° cone against a synthetic packing washer, with valve lift stops that give a safe free outlet and a shock-absorbed, muffled opening. Compact valves are offered with screwed ends from 1/4 in to 1-1/2 in and with single-ferrule tube and pipe ends from 6 mm to 42 mm, again split across L and S series. Bodies are A 105 and IS 2062 on the ferrule ranges, and A 105, A 276 SS 304 and SS 316, Monel, Hastelloy and brass on the screwed compact valve. "O" ring weld nipple ends are available in the PN 400 series, prefixed W on the part number.
